Stan
Stan is a chatbot on our irc network at irc.stonedworld.net. Stan is a PPF bot, written in java, who has a few interesting functions. Stan keeps track of every line uttered in #stonedworld and he notices who talks to whom, and how often. He uses this information to periodically generate relational charts in graphical format. The length and thickness of the line indicate how often people talk to one another. Short lines and fat lines indicate the users frequently chat. This is the most recent snapshot of the social whirlwhind that is #stonedworld:
But that's not all, oh no. Stan is a robot of many functions! He also watches the chat stream for patterns that make it seem to him that something amusing has just been said in the channel. When the conditions are right and the stars align he creates hilarious cartoons like this:
Stan is a fucking pimp, honestly. An artist and a scholar. He is also a markov bot, a learning chatterbot. He remembers everything that has been said to him and reconstructs sentences out of the words and patterns he has been fed. He is occasionally quite sage, more often slightly left of center.
